cvmkdir(1) cvmkdir(1)

NAME

cvmkdir - Create an Xsan Directory with an Affinity

SYNOPSIS

       cvmkdir -k <key> <dirname>

       cvmkdir <dirname>

DESCRIPTION

cvmkdir creates a directory and optionally attaches a Xsan affinity (-k
<key>) attribute to it. If no option is used and the directory pre-
exists, the affinity assigned to it will be displayed. If the -k ""
(quote-quote) option is used the affinity is deleted.

See cvfs_config(4) for details about affinities to storage pools.

USAGE

The -k <key> tells the file system with what affinity to associate with
the directory. All new sub-directories and files beneath this direc-
tory inherit its affinity as they are created. If the affinity is
changed or removed only files or directories created after the change
       are affected.

The <dirname> is the path where the directory will be created.
