NAME
watchdog -- Mac OS X Server service monitoring daemon
HISTORY
watchdog was a process that launched, monitored, and relaunched critical
services when they terminated. This capability has been superseded by
launchd(8).
watchdog was also indirectly responsible for rebooting the server hard-
ware if the machine hung. This capability is now provided by
watchdogtimerd(8).
