The things to fix are to add a couple of zeroes to:

#define JAMSTATE -32766 /* marks a reference to the state that always jams */
#define MAXIMUM_MNS 31999
#define BAD_SUBSCRIPT -32767
#define MAX_SHORT 32700

and, if you get complaints about too many rules, make the following change too:

	#define YY_TRAILING_MASK 0x200000
	#define YY_TRAILING_HEAD_MASK 0x400000
